A Favorite Place using Empressr
I was least impressed with Empressr. This online tool made it very difficult to control the duration of the slides so you could hear the narration. Nothing I did seemed to help. I finally just gave up. I was able to add images, animations, and narration. If the presentation mode would perform as advertised, I think I would like using this online tool.
A Favorite Place using OneTrueMedia
This was my second favorite online tool. This digital story includes images, text, animation, and music and creates a pretty flashy slideshow. My only problem is there is no way to add narration or text (for free). I felt like this tool is best for making fun slideshows and not so great for digital storytelling.
A Favorite Place in VoiceThread
This digital story includes images, narration, and motion and is easily my most favorite of all the tools I tried. I felt like it made it easy to include students in the digital storytelling process because it made the presentation more about the story than the flashy show.
